Air India restores 20 AIE flights

Kochi: The national carrier Air India has restored all but one of the cancelled 21 Air India Express flights following public protests and the intervention of the union civil aviation minister, Mr Vayalar Ravi.
“We have decided to restore 20 flights scheduled from November 10 to 13 following public demand,” said an AI official.
“After organisations such as NORKA raised the matter, the minister took special interest in ensuring the restoration of the flights,” he said.
Soon after the airline announced the flight cancellation, Mr Noel Thomas, chief executive officer of NORKA ROOTS, had told Deccan Chronicle that he had taken up the issue at the ministerial level.
Among the flights restored are Cochin –Dubai-Cochin, Cochin-Salalah-Cochin, Trivandrum-Sharjah-Trivandrum (Nov 10), Cochin-Abudhabi-Cochin, Trivandrum-Muscat-Cochin-Trivandrum (Nov 11), Trivandrum-Dubai-Trivandrum, Cochin-Dubai-Abudhabi-Cochin (Nov 12), Cochin-Dubai-Cochin, Trivandrum - Abudhabi- Trivandrum and Calicut-Muscat-Calicut (Nov 13).
