Airport staff getting etiquette training

Jaipur: Immigration staff at the Sanganer airport in Jaipur is now being groomed to deal with valued passengers with etiquettes along international standards. Declining passenger traffic at the airport and complaints of coarse behaviour with the passengers has prompted the immigration department to go in for a complete image makeover of its staff. To address the issues, the cops on immigration duty are now undergoing behavioural training. "We have already completed a course in behavioural training for the cops deployed at the immigration service in September," a police officer said. The cops are being updated on changes in the immigration norms. "They are being trained to understand the requirement of valued customers and not evaluate them on the same yardstick employed for the labourers flying to countries abroad for work," another official said. The training module is making a "targeted attempt" at enhancing the knowledge of English in the immigration staff. They are also being informed on the best behavioural practices around the world, to make international passengers feel at home while at the airport.
