Delhi Airport and its stakeholders on Saturday undertook a full-scale emergency exercise at IGI Airport according to ICAO standards. Various agencies, including airport operator DIAL, airlines, CISF, DGCA, Delhi Police, Delhi fire service, ATC, Medanta Hospital, district medical co-ordinator and Indian Air Force, took part in it. tnn
The exercise started with Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) at IGIA receiving a call from Tower at 1120 hrs that flight no. XYZ 333 of WW Airlines (75 pax onboard) coming from xxx to Delhi accidently landed short of runway Tango leading to an emergency situation. Immediately, all concerned parties were alerted about the incident and were informed to meet at emergency response meeting venue (Crisis Management Centre). IGIA's Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) arrived with fire tenders to the incident site within a minute and managed to control fire instantaneously and started relief and rescue operations.
