Flight service to Mysore suspended

Mysore: Flight services to Mysore were suspended on Monday even as the stakeholders in the growth of the city were upset with the development. Mysore airport was shut for the day, as the only flight it handles was suspended.
"We didn't get the flight today and the suspension is temporary," said Mysore airport head C Manjunath said. According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) official, they will get to know the details of the suspension on Tuesday.
The Rs 90-crore facility handles one flight a day from Bangalore, which will remain suspended for at least a week. The airport was soft launched on September 19, 2009, and started commercial operations a year ago with a short-haul flight from Bangalore. The sudden move by the operator has created flutter in the tourism sector. P Rajendra, vice-president of the Karnataka Hotels and Restaurants Association wondered as to why the flight was cancelled without any notice.
