New Delhi: Mounting dues to oil companies and grounding of several aircraft appear to be the reason behind cancellation of multiple flights of Kingfisher Airlines. According to leading travel agents and travel websites, up to 50 Kigfisher flights — domestic and some international — are likely to be cancelled daily till November 19.
On Tuesday, seven arriving and two departing flights were cancelled from Delhi as the airline cited lack of adequate number of aircraft. From Mumbai, 5-6 flights were clubbed as the airline said passenger numbers were inadequate for these routes. In all, about 31 flights were cancelled till about 5 pm across the country.
When contacted, a Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson did not respond on this issue. But the Airlines said in a statement that it has reduced frequency of some of its flights “which are predominantly over weekends or on some routes where there has been slow demand.”
