AAI seeks action from VMC over long-pending issues

Vadodara: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials here have written to the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) asking it to look into long-pending issues. The officials have pointed out inaction on several counts from the civic body's end.
The AAI has raised the issues of water logging, encroachments around the airport and steps that needed to be taken to prevent incidents involving birds at the airport. The officials have said that these needed to be taken care of to make the airport incident free.
According to a letter written by AAI to the civic body, the airport was badly waterlogged during the 2005 floods and operations were affected. The letter adds that the situation remains similar during monsoon. The officials have asked the civic body to clean and improve a storm water drain near its boundary wall to take care of the problem.
