New Delhi: A Jet Airways air hostess was allegedly molested by a passenger on board an international flight last week. According to police, the passenger, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was arrested as soon as the flight landed in Delhi.
“The incident was reported on the Jet Airways international flight from Milan to Delhi on December 9. The passenger, Baljinder Singh, was under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred,” said R A Sanjeev, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport).
The 27-year-old victim alleged in her complaint to the police that when the aircraft was preparing to land in Delhi around 6 am, Singh started misbehaving.
“The passenger was on seat no 36 and was consuming alcohol. He immediately stood up and began abusing loudly, thereby proving a source of disturbance to the rest of the passengers on board,” the victim alleged in her complaint.
Police said that Singh (42) was drunk when he boarded the flight and consumed more liquor on board the aircraft.
The woman said when she tried to walk past him, he molested her. “He held my hand and began talking to me indecently. It was then that my fellow cabin crew member intervened and pulled me away from the man,” said the victim, who, according to police, plans to marry in a few days.
