Pathanamthitta: A group of Bharatiya Janata Party and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists have locked the office building and the gate of the rented office building of the KGS Aranmula Airport Limited at Ayyankovil junction in Aranmula, after sending out the employees there, on Monday.
The BJP-BJYM protesters staged a march to the KGS company office when it was opened after a gap of two weeks in the wake of the ongoing public agitation against the airport project on Monday forenoon.
The protesters gate-crashed into the rented building of the private company and breaking the police cordon barged into the office.
The agitated party workers led BJP district president, V.N.Unni, has locked the office room and gate.
The BJP-BJYM workers also staged a sit-in on the road, raising slogans against the proposed airport project.
Addressing the march, Mr Unni said the people of Aranmula would oppose tooth and nail the proposed airport project which would destroy the environment, eco system and the native culture and heritage of Aranmula.
