Brace for flight delays from Jan 20

Mumbai: Flyers at Mumbai airport may have to face delays for the next four months.
The main runway (09-27) will be shut for flight operations from January 20 till June 1 between 9am and 5pm.
Though flights will be operated on the secondary runway (14-32), airport officials said that delays of 30-40 minutes are likely as the secondary runway cannot accommodate as many flights as the main runway.
However, though the closure may inconvenience flyers for a while, it will help flight operations in the long run.
Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL) will construct a rapid exit taxiway (RET) so that flights can vacate the runway smoothly and quickly.
