New Delhi: India's largest no-frills carrier IndiGo has said the recent financial audit by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation will not impact its expansion plans. The airline said it was following all the safety procedures "meticulously" and its fleet expansion posed no threat to the maintenance of its existing aircraft or to its passengers.
"It is DGCA's job to ask probing questions and we have implemented whatever they asked us to," IndiGo President Aditya Ghosh told reporters on Tuesday. DGCA, the principal aviation regulator in the country, had recently carried out a financial audit of all domestic airlines to check if cash crunch was taking a toll on their safety. The audit had suggested that IndiGo should review its rapid expansion plans.
"The DGCA, I believe, is satisfied with our response and there are no concerns on our growth plans," IndiGo President Aditya Ghosh told reporters on Tuesday. "It is unfortunate that the airline's response has not come into the public domain and the part information has created confusion."
