Two top officials resign from SpiceJet

Mumbai: Two key executives, including Chief Commercial Officer Samyukth Sridharan, at low-cost carrier, SpiceJet Ltd, have resigned at a time when the airline is expanding regional operations and is set to post a loss this fiscal. Sridharan resigned late last week after Neil Mills, Chief Executive Offcier, SpiceJet, returned from his new year’s break abroad, according to two officials at the Gurgaon-based airline, who did not want to be named. SpiceJet’s Associate Vice President (Legal) and Company Secretary, A.K. Maheshwary, who has been with the firm for the past decade, has also resigned, the officials said.
Sridharan has a Bachelor of Technology degree in metallurgical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Sridharan, who joined the airline four-and-a-half-years ago, was one of the few top managers at the airline who had stayed back after Kalanithi Maran took control of the carrier in 2010. Sridharan declined to comment on the reason for his exit, according to a report by Mint.
