Air India staff caught stealing at IGI airport

New Delhi: Two baggage assistants of Air India were apprehended while they were allegedly trying to steal laptops and mobile-phones inside the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) said on Friday.
The two AI staff have been identified as Deepak Nangia and Abhimanyu, a CISF officer said, adding that one laptop and three mobile-phones were recovered from the duo in separate cases.
While Nangia was handed over to police on February 14, Abhimanyu was intercepted and later handed over to Delhi Police on February 15.
"Both were intercepted when they were exiting the Terminal 3 of the IGI. The police is probing whether the laptops and other valuable were stolen from the baggage of passengers," a CISF officer said.
In yet another case, CISF troops today found a bag lying at Dwarka Sector-21 station of the Airport Metro which contained more than Rs 2 lakh in cash, a Blackberry mobile-phone and an iPod.
