Airport Metro starts international check-in tomorrow

New Delhi The Airport Metro Express Line will start baggage check-in facility for international passengers from Thursday. The launch of the facility coincides with the Airport Metro’s first birthday.
International passengers will be able to check-in their luggage and collect boarding pass at New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations, up to eight hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight.
The move will allow passengers to relive themselves of the luggage, and either shop at stations’ retail outlets or tour the city.
Air India will be the first to offer this facility to its passengers. Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines, which already have their counters at the stations, will soon follow.
Reliance Infrastructure, operator of the line, is in talks with other airlines and more counters are expected to come up at the two stations, officials said.
