Direct ATF import: GMR, GVK ready to offer support facilities

New Delhi: Domestic airlines planning to import jet fuel directly have got support from private airport operators. The two private airport operators GMR and GVK have said that they are ready to provide storage and refuelling facilities to the airlines at Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
GMR operates Delhi and Hyderabad Airport while GVK operates Mumbai and Bangalore. Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore have refuelling infrastructure to be shared on an open-access basis. Here, an airline can itself pump fuel into its aircraft.

As per the concession awarded, DAFFPL is to make these facilities available on the principle of open access. Hence, airlines importing aviation turbine fuel (ATF) may use the same, accordingly.” DIAL is a part of GMR group.
A GVK group spokesperson said, “We will be happy to work with airlines and oil companies for domestic and imported ATF dispensation at our Mumbai and Bengaluru airports.”
