Nasim Zaidi to open fourth air cargo summit tomorrow

Mumbai: The fourth edition of the Air Cargo India international trade fair and exhibition will kick off here tomorrow, where stakeholders and delegates from around the world will discuss the challenges, issues and opportunities in this sunshine sector. Civil Aviation Secretary Nasim Zaidi will inaugurate the three-day event which is likely to be attended by around 250 delegates from around the world. Around 60 companies will exhibit their world class products and services specifically designed for the air transport industry, RK Patra of Stat Times, an international multi-modal transport trade media, specialising in air cargo and the orgaisers of this biennial summit said. According to him, the domestic freight industry is expected to grow at 10 percent per annum by 2014 and the air freight sector is set to expand by 8.5 per cent per year for the next five years. A record turnout of trade visitors is expected at the summit to be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, north Mumbai. Already nearly 2500 trade visitors have registered for the event, indicating how stakeholders of the supply chain of air logistics industry are vying for major participation in the domestic market.
