Pay more for airport shuttles too

Bangalore: As if paying toll from Friday wasn't enough to take a toll on commuters, now those travelling by bus to Bengaluru International Airport or even Devanahalli will have to cough up more. After the surprise announcement that toll will be collected on BIA Road ahead of the diversion towards the airport and beyond on the Devanahalli-Hyderabad route, BMTC has hiked rates for ordinary bus services to Devanahalli and Vayu Vajras to BIA. This will come into effect from Saturday morning.
Airport commuters will have to pay Rs 5 more for tickets up to BIA. Monthly and special passes for Vayu Vajra, worth Rs 1,450 and Rs 1,500 each, will also go up by Rs 5. Trumpet services which operate between the trumpet junction and BIA, will be exempted from the hike.
