New Delhi: Cargo operations of Air India would now on be seamless for its entire domestic and global network with the introduction of a single automated solution for both the two erstwhile state-run carriers.
Earlier, the airline was operating cargo carriage on third-party hosted systems. While it was one system for narrow-body aircraft operations by the erstwhile Indian Airlines, the wide-body cargo operations of erstwhile Air India was using another system, an in-house mainframe based system, an airline spokesperson said.
Noting that this was a major step towards integrating the operations of the two erstwhile carriers, he said from this month, the entire system has been merged and migrated to a new Logistic Management System solution by for its cargo operations, a system used by most international carriers worldwide.
