Aircraft grounded after step ladder slams into it

Chennai: A Jet airways flight from Kolkata was grounded at the Chennai airport after a step ladder hit the tail portion of the aircraft on Saturday.
The accident occurred as two step ladders were towed and brought to help the passengers alight from the aircraft around 1 p.m. The tractor driver who towed the step ladder for the rear side started moving soon after detaching the step ladder from the tractor. When the tractor started moving, the ladder also moved with it and hit the stabiliser in the rear portion of the aircraft.
Airport sources said that the driver thought that the ladder was totally detached from the tractor and turned the vehicle.
