Kochi: A section of the shareholders of the Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has come up demanding rights’ issue for shareholders with less than 5,000 shares.
The Shareholders Organisation of CIAL has prepared a memorandum citing a couple of demands to be submitted before Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Saturday. The association pointed out that the CIAL has already given 17 percent interest to HUDCO. “Besides, the CIAL is giving one crore shares to HUDCO for face value. From the remaining 9.4 crore shares, a specific number of shares should be given as rights issue to small-scale shareholders,” said Shareholders Organisation president A K Naseer and general secretary Devasikutty Padayattil.
