New Delhi: A security breach took place at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday evening when an inebriated man who had gained entry into the airport using a “stolen” pass was found loitering in the tarmac area.
Police sources said the accused, identified as Ram Lakhan, a resident of Bihar, was found loitering in tarmac area near Bay 50D and was spotted by the staff of Jet Airways which immediately informed the Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) at around 5.20 pm. A team of security personnel arrived on the spot and arrested the accused who was allegedly unable to stand straight due to the influence of liquor.
“He was brought to the office at Gate No. 11 and upon his search we recovered a fake identity card from his possession. The card was issued in the name of Ketan Adhikari, a bartender who worked at Org Devyani Food Co. at IGI. The card was valid till November 17 but the year of expiry was not clear,” a Central Industrial Security Forces official said.
