Irkut expects to sell up to 200 planes in India by 2025

Hyderabad: Russian manufacturer Irkut Corporation today said it expects to sell between 100-200 of its short- to mid-range MC-21 passenger aircraft by 2025.
"We see the potential in the Indian aviation market with the number of new passengers going up. The Indian market is strategic for us and with the historical ties ... we could sell between 100-200 MC-21 planes by 2025 to 2030," Irkut Corporation Vice President (Marketing) Kyrill Budaev told reporters at the ongoing third edition of India Aviation 2012.
IRKUT Corporation has already signed contracts and agreements for the delivery of 235 MC-21 aircraft with 128 orders coming from Russia and the remaining from different foreign companies, he said, adding though as of now they did not have any orders from Indian companies, but were hopeful of getting one order next year.
