Passengers protest as Air India offloads baggage in Kuala Lumpur

Chennai: A section of passengers of Air India Express flight from Kuala Lumpur to Chennai on Tuesday morning staged a protest at the Chennai airport as the airline off-loaded their baggage after the flight reached its ‘overload limit.'
According to airport sources, the flight had 179 passengers on board and baggage of 118 passengers were off loaded at Kuala Lumpur. The flight, which was scheduled to arrive in Chennai at 10.20 p.m. on Monday landed at 5.10 a.m. on Tuesday. The passengers stood in front of the conveyor belt to pick up their baggage but were shocked to notice that their baggage was not loaded in the flight.
They demanded an explanation from the airline as to why they were not informed about the issue. Airline officials assured them that their baggage would be brought from Kuala Lumpur in the next flight.
