Ajit Singh, the Minister for Civil Aviation informed Lok Sabha today in a written reply that the main responsibility of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is to lay down standards and measures in respect of security of civil flights at international and domestic airports in the country and ensure their compliance with oversight mechanism and quality control.
The Minister informed further that the BCAS is an attached office under the administrative control of Ministry of Civil Aviation. It is the regulatory authority for Civil Aviation Security in India.
