Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithiviraj Chavan on Sunday said that tenders for constructing second runway at Mihan airport here would be floated soon.
"The second runway and the taxiway for the Boeing MRO are required to make the city airport as an international aviation hub and tenders for the second runway will be floated this month," Chavan told reporters here today.
It will be developed by Maharashtra Airport Development Company and total cost of the project will be Rs 83 crore and it would be completed in one year, MADC VP and Managing Director U P S Madan said.
Mihan or Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur is a mega project spread over 4,354 hectares. It consists of two parts, an international airport that would act as a cargo hub and a Special Economic Zone.
