Aviation minister to take stock of Kolkata airport upgrade

Kolkata: Union civil aviation minister Ajit Singh is likely to be in Kolkata by Monday and meet chief minister Mamata Banerjee at Writers' Buildings to discuss the present status of the Rs 2,500-crore airport modernization project and the cause of delay in its execution.
Union minister of state for urban development Saugata Roy, who also heads the airport advisory committee, said he has been requesting the civil aviation minister for some time now to see for himself the extent of progress in the modernization project.
