New Delhi: With the proposal to establish an airport at Tawang being rejected and decision on other sites in Arunachal Pradesh delayed, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh today asked his officials to finalise a site in the state and submit a report within a fortnight. Accordingly, a three-member team, comprising officials of the Ministry, Airports Authority of India and DGCA, would visit the sensitive border state soon and work with the local officials to finalise a suitable site for construction of a greenfield airport, official sources said. Singh's direction came after Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki met him here and sought an expeditious decision on the issue. The state, which does not have an airport of its own, is currently served by two airports at Lilabari and Tezpur, both situated in Assam.
