Mumbai: Passengers booked on a SpiceJet flight to Goa were stranded at Mumbai airport for almost four hours on Saturday afternoon. The passengers had landed from Kolkata and were to fly to Goa. The airline said the flight to Goa was delayed due to a runway closure there.
The flyers boarded the SpiceJet flight, SG 803, to Goa via Mumbai at 8am. The flight reached Mumbai at 10.30am and was supposed to be air-borne for Goa at 11.30am. But the passengers were asked to deplane in Mumbai and told that there was a delay.
Kishore Shah, a Goa-based businessman booked on the flight, said the airline officials took away the boarding pass and issued new ones. "No help was extended by the airline staff; no refreshments were given. When flyers demanded to speak to the manager or make a complaint, the ground staff shouted at them and was rude," Shah said. "There was no announcement to tell us when the flight would depart. After a wait of four hours, we were asked to board the flight at 2.45pm."
