Fog springs summer surprise at IGI airport

New Delhi: Delhi is in the middle of summer and though temperatures should be touching 40 degrees, Palam witnessed shallow to moderate fog between 3.30am and 8am. Low visibility was also reported in the area on Wednesday though officials attributed that to smog.
Low visibility procedures had to be put in place at the IGI airport on both days. On Wednesday, the LVP was in place for about five hours, between 6am and 11am while on Friday, LVP was implemented for about three hours, starting from 5.45am. No air traffic disruption was reported even though Category-I conditions had been declared.
