Mumbai: About a hundred contractual ground- handling staff of Air India today did not report for work to protest non-payment of their two months' salary dues, delaying the departure of two international flights from here. An Air India spokesperson, however, said that arrangements for payment of their salary have been made and some workers had reported back for work. "We have made arrangements for the payment of these workers' salaries, but due to bank holidays, it will reach their accounts only on Saturday," he said. The spokesperson, however, maintained that the delays in the departure of Mumbai-Delhi-Shanghai and Mumbai-Cairo flights by almost an hour were not caused by the protest.
