The turbulence in the Indian aviation space is taking a toll even on the only profitable carrier that India can boast of. Indigo co-founder Rahul Bhatia has dismissed Kingfisher chairman Vijay Mallya's comments on the veracity of Indigo's profits.
In a conversation with CNBC-TV18's Shereen Bhan, Bhatia dismissed allegations that Indigo's profits were a result of sale and leasebacks adding that the airline had nothing to hide and its profits were open to any kind of scrutiny.
"I am saddened, I feel disheartened at times but I guess every individual is entitled to their own opinion about others." said Bhatia.
On being asked, was he surprised, disappointed or taken aback by the fact that the profitability of Indigo was questioned in an open letter to the employees by the chairman of another aviation company, Bhatia said that the airline submits its financials to DCA every year and its records are open for scrutiny.
