Chopper on state’s shopping list

Ranchi: State government has initiated efforts to buy a helicopter for VVIP use, three days after the chief minister’s Agusta AW-109 chopper, leased from Aryan Aviation, crash-landed at Ranchi airport.
Aryan Aviation’s contract with the state had expired in March. But it had been asked to continuing operations till such time the state made alternative arrangements.
“A file pertaining to the purchase of a chopper by the state government was moved today. The civil aviation department has suggested that the state buy a a twin engine two (pilots) plus six (passenger)-capacity chopper through global tenders,” director (flying operations) of the civil aviation department, captain S.P. Sinha told The Telegraph.
