Panaji: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday stressed that Dabolim airport will neither be closed nor its operations reduced but with passenger and cargo volumes expected to rise exponentially in the next few years, Goa needs to go ahead with constructing the new airport at Mopa.
Briefing mediapersons, Parrikar assured to meet and address the concerns of all who have apprehensions over Dabolim airport. "More than 500 crore is being spent to create facilities for passengers at Dabolim. Nobody is a fool to spend 500 crore and then close it. But it (Dabolim) has its limitations," Parrikar said.
