Day 8 of Air India pilots' strike: Oppn moves privilege motion against Ajit singh

New Delhi: Expressing grave concerns over the ongoing strike by Air India pilots, the Opposition on Tuesday moved a privilege motion against Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh for making statements outside Parliament suggesting the privatisation of the national carrier.
Launching a scathing attack on Singh, Sharad Yadav (JD-U) and Gurudas Dasgupta (CPI) moved a privilege motion against him for speaking on policy issues related to civil aviation outside when the House was in session.
They also wanted to know what the government was doing to resolve the 8-day long impasse with 71 pilots being sacked for their stir.
