Meeting with Air India unions next week: Ajit Singh

New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh on Thursday said that the government will convene a meeting of all the recognised Air India unions next week to discuss Justice Dharmadhikari report on HR issues. Singh said he will discuss the issues of promotions and career progression of pilots in the meeting. The meeting will have representatives of all the recognised unions, which means the Indian Pilots' Guild that is spearheading this strike will not be part of it.
The Delhi High Court is also expected to give its verdict on the guild's plea challenging an order that restrains them from going on an illegal strike on Thursday.
The three pilots who broke ranks with their colleagues are set to resume to work as the pilots' strike enters its 10th day. "I am calling a meeting of all the recognised trade unions of Air India next week to discuss the career progression issues, including promotions also," Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh told reporters.
