RTO-regulated auto, taxi booths to come up at railway station, airport

Pune: For rail and air passengers, haggling with autorickshaw and taxi drivers outside Pune railway station and Lohegaon airport may soon be a thing of the past with the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune, deciding to set up pre-paid autorickshaw and taxi stands at these places.
They will be regulated by the RTO unlike the ones being run by private operators at present.
The pre-paid autorickshaw stand at the railway station is expected to be operational by June. A week has been given to autorickshaw unions and commuter organisations to come up with any objection to or suggestions for the proposed fare structure and other logistics.
