Sahnewal airport to be extended?

Ludhiana: Following Punjab government’s request, Airports Authority of India(AAI) has conducted a survey to check feasibility of extending runway at Sahnewal airport(Ludhiana).
Punjab had requested AAI to survey whether the runway be extended from 4,800 feet to 7,500 feet. The report is expected to arrive this week. If the runway is extended, big planes will land at Sahnewal airport and residents will also save their time and money as they would not have to change flights at Delhi.
