Kochi: A woman was detained by Customs officials at Nedumbassery airport for carrying 426 grams of gold on her body. According to the officials, the woman, identified as Bincy Mathew, was disguised in a purdah, when they detained her.
The officials grew suspicious as the woman was a Christian and yet was wearing a purdah. On checking, they discovered that she was wearing gold worth 12.25 lakh.
