3 airlines accused in A'bad of closing low-fare seats

Ahmedabad: Tour operators in the city have alleged that three airlines — Qatar, Emirates, Jet Airways that have direct flights from the city to London and New York —have closed their low fare options to take advantage of the crisis in Air India.
Miffed at the situation, chairman of the tourism development society Manish Sharma has also written a letter to the three companies about the same.
The letter, a copy of which is in possession of DNA, talks of how the three airlines have stopped low fare options forcing the needy to go for costlier options. The letter also threatens legal action in the interest of the public.
Talking about the issue, Sharma said that when Air India operated direct flights to London and New York it offered about 100 low-fare seats.
