Cabinet to vet AI pay norm

New Delhi: The vexed issue of salary scale of the employees of Air India and erstwhile Indian Airlines following their merger is set to be decided by the Cabinet. The civil aviation ministry is preparing to take the cabinet’s approval on some key issues, including pay parity and salary restructuring. The Dharmadhikari committee had recommended several measures on the integration of the workforce of the two airlines.
Air India has not been able to solve the human resource problems since the merger of the two subsidiaries in 2007. Since the integration, the two carriers have been at loggerheads over salary and promotion policies.
