Delhi HC issues notices to Centre, AI

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issues notices to Air India management and the Centre and asked them to reply to a plea of the striking pilots on their unpaid salaries and other benefits.
The court directed the Centre and the management of the national carrier to file their reply on the matter within a week.
It made the direction while hearing a petition filed by Capt. Sumeer Saini and other pilots.
Senior advocate Pinki Anand, who appeared for the pilots, said the salaries of around 450 pilots are due to be paid.
He clarified that the petition had no connection to the ongoing agitation by the pilots who have been on strike for more than a month now over salary, promotion and training disputes.
The court will further hear on the matter on July 10.
Earlier, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has reportedly said the Civil Aviation Ministry should immediately find a solution to the ongoing troubles with agitating Air India pilots.
