Chennai: A passenger shuttle bus of Kingfisher Airlines caught fire inside operational area of the airport here today. There were no passengers inside when the accident happened.
Sources said that emanating from its AC compressor at the rear when the bus was driven from its bay. The smoke was spotted and the bus was stopped. Fire tenders from airport were brought and it was extinguished before it could spread. Initial investigation showed that a spark in the compressor might have triggered the fire, said an official.
