Surat airport is hot topic for the top BJP leaders

Surat: IT has become a common practice for the top brass of BJP leaders to raise the issue of air connectivity and playing a political blame-game during their visit to the diamond city.
The latest has come from BJP's national spokesperson Ravi Shanker Prasad during his maiden visit to the diamond city on Saturday. In less than a hour after he arrived on the Surat airport from Mumbai, Prasad was briefed about the burning political issue of lack of air connectivity.
At the press meeting, Prasad had reserved about 15 minutes of his speech slot for the airport topic. On the very onset, Prasad said that Surat is the mini-India and it is really disheartening to know that the city has only two flights to Delhi and that the rest of the important destinations across the country are still not connected.
