Uniform pay and working hours for Air India, Indian Airlines: Ajit Singh

New Delhi: Civil aviation minister Ajit Singh on Friday made public the Dharmadhikari Report on Air India and said there will be parity in pay scales between Air India and Indian Airlines, and a uniform working hours policy.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Ajit Singh said that April 1, 2007 has been set as cut off date for new pay scales, according to Times Now. The minister also promised that senior employees won't be paid less than junior employees.
A four member committee will be formed to commit the report. The report recommends abolishment of PLI for employees. The pilots will get allowances according to industry standards, after the Cabinet's nod.
Ajit Singh, however, reiterated, demands of striking AI pilots will be looked into only after they end strike unconditionally.
The pilots of erstwhile AI have been on strike since May 7 against the airline's decision to train pilots of erstwhile IA on the Boeing 787.
