15 AMC corporators turn first-time fliers

Ahmedabad: The ‘Capacity Building Tours’ on which councillors of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) have been leaving since Sunday have given many of them an opportunity to realise their dream of travelling by air.
Of the coporators who are visiting different cities or will be leaving soon, more than 15 have never before travelled by a plane.
Vilas Sohelia, a BJP corporator from Vasna ward and also a member of AMC’s hospital committee, got butterflies in the stomach at the very idea of boarding a flight. She said she was very excited about travelling by plane as she had never taken a flight to go anywhere.
“I have never stepped out of Gujarat. The tour will give me a chance to see and learn new things which will be helpful in the future,” said Sohelia.
