Adampur Air Force station twenty kilometers away from Jalandhar is all set to transform into a civil aviation base as the central government is set to allow it for civil aviation purposes.
According to the deputy chief minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal, the state government had formally approached the central government for the civil aviation base and the response was encouraging. He added that the state government has recently submitted a proposal for the building the civilian terminal at Adampur and they are hopeful of getting it passed too.
Badal said that he is hopeful of getting the clearance within five months and the flights will start operating accordingly. He added that it was the first time the government had submitted the formal proposal to the central government.
