The hours-long conciliatory proceedings between Air India management and representatives of the Indian Pilots Guild (IPG), the union which went on a 58-day strike on May 7, remained inconclusive as the airline did not agree to any of the agitators' demands.
"In the meeting held today (Friday), the AI officials expressed their inability to provide any commitment on the reinstatement of pilots and on any other issues.
Instead they requested the Deputy CLC for more time...the management failed to reciprocate IPG's goodwill gesture of calling off the agitation and reporting to work," IPG General Secretary EA Kapadia said in an official statement.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed both sides to settle the strike out of court and appear for conciliation proceedings before the Chief Labour Commissioner on July 6, Friday.
