Industry captains flay policy inaction of Govt

Kolkata: Industry captains on Saturday took a dig at the Government for promoting inefficiencies by not facilitating competition.
Mr R. Rahul Bhatia, Chairman of Indigo Airlines, questioned the Government’s moves regarding “policy-tinkering” for a select few in the aviation sector, at the 84th AGM of the Indian Chamber of Commerce. He also held the Government responsible for placing the efficient players at a disadvantage.
Mr Shashi Ruia, Chairman of the Essar Group, aired his suspicion about a “witch-hunt” that has selectively targeted certain users of natural resources. He felt if the policy-makers wanted industry to come up, natural resources should not remain the exclusive domain of the Government.
