One in four Air India flights late in June

Mumbai: Air India, that witnessed a 58-day strike by pilots, recorded the worst on-time performance (OTP) in June, according to data from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
Of a total 1,319 flights per day that Air India operated in the city in June, 352 flights or 26 per cent were delayed. Compared with May though, the carrier improved its OTP by two per cent. Spice Jet recorded the second-worst performance with 20 per cent of its flights getting delayed. Its OTP has also seen an improvement of four per cent compared with 76 per cent in May. As many as 97 of its flight operations, the highest after AI, were delayed due to crew and operational reasons.
Indigo continued to maintain its lead in timings with 90 per cent of its flights operating as per schedule. Only 125 of the total 1,292 flights were delayed.
