Pawan Hans equips copters with latest technology

Shillong: State-owned Pawan Hans Helicopter Ltd (PHHL), which resumed services in Meghalaya after a gap of over a year, today said it has “equipped” its flying machines with latest aviation technology conforming to latest safety standards and has adopted “stringent” safety measures to prevent any mishap in the mountainous north eastern region.
“We assure everybody that we will be taking utmost care in the safety of passengers as this is our prime priority,” PHHL Chairman cum Managing Director Anil Srivastava told reporters.
The assurance came in the wake of the company getting a bad name post 2004 and 2011 infamous accidents in Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh in the north-east which claimed many lives including that of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu.
