Air India likely to sell, lease back Dreamliners

Mumbai: Contrary to general perception that 27 Boeing Dreamliners are being inducted into its fleet, national carrier Air India has decided to enter into a sale and lease back arrangement so as not to strain its financial health.
Sources said Indigo, Jet and few other airlines are increasingly getting into sale and lease back arrangements to generate revenue and sustain the airline.
AI has been sanctioned an infusion of Rs30,000 crore by the government to make it competitive to run efficiently in the current environment.
